Collage and Scrapbook Page

Hi All from a cold but sunny NE UK Coast. Thank you for calling in today, it is always nice to have visitors. A reminder that there is still almost a week left to join us at Try it on Tuesday where the theme is 'Hand made by you' I hope to see you there.

Art Journal Journey has a new theme for the month of November and it was chosen by the lovely Susi. We are asked to make a collage with no faces, no leaves and no wings. Not as easy as it might sound. When I saw it yesterday I had lots of ideas but when I started to design one it had leaves so back to the drawing board for me.

I painted a background of sky, sand and sea. Then added beach huts made from various scraps of fabric. The shells and star were from my bits box and the door knobs are brads. Just realised that some of the scraps of fabric have leaves on them--help! Sorry Susi.

At Digitally Sweet Challenge this time the theme is to make a scrapbook page or layout with Animals or Pets. I chose to use some of my daughter's cats past and present.

Off to put on my thinking cap and make something that hasn't got leaves, face or wings.

Have a great day

Love Chrissie xx

Really gorgeous collage Chrissie - I did the same, started one and realised there was a face on the postage stamp I'd used, so that wasn't too bad to rectify.. think I might need some extra chocolate to help think about this fun challenge - luckily :) we also had no trick or treaters so there is plenty of goodies left that of course have to be eaten.
Love your digital piece, the cats are so sweet.
November is certainly different than October, went down to just over 2c last night ..brrr....Have a lovely day.. Gill xx

What a wonderful collage - I want to stay at that beach just now .. here it is cold and rainy again ...brr.
Yes it is not easy this month, I knew it, but I think you will manage it for sure . Don't mind this two little leaves on the fabric.. I wouldn't have seen it at all...lol!
Lovely collage of Linda's babies!
Thank you very much for putting your thinking cap on and the first collage is super artsy done! I love it!
Happy Wednesday Chrissie!

I know, its hard to make collage pieces with no leaves, wings or faces. I think we all use them a little too much, but wow- to move away from them is tricky. I've got some ideas, and one of them is houses. :) Love the kitty collage too. Happy Wednesday. Hugs-Erika

I enjoyed your take on Susi's theme. I noticed the leaves, but they weren't obvious, so I'm glad Susi didn't notice.

Of course, Bleubeard gives two paws up to the animals challenge and Linda's babies. They are adorable.

Lovely beach houses, Chrissie, and amusing about finding a leaf or two on the fabric. I was planning to use fabric in one of my collages so I'll now know to check it out first.
A blogpost is always enhanced by a picture of a cat IMO.

Great collages Chrissie, it's not easy to do without leaves, I'm struggling with the first one. I can't see me doing many of these.

Your beach houses are wonderful! I love how you have used the fabric and the sayings you have used are so true :-). Great digital piece too, your daughter's cats (past and present) are gorgeous, they look so cute and are perfectly framed with the animal print background you have chosen :-). Wishing you a lovely week! J :-)

Well, it may not count for Susi's challenge (though those leaves are really tiny, so maybe she could overlook them!), but I adore your fabric beach huts, and the lovely waves on the water - a really gorgeous page. Lovely cat photos too, and I really like the circular images.

What a lovely cat collage. I love all the fabric on the other collage - it is funny that the fabric has leaves on it - how surprisingly difficult that theme is!

Who can resist a page of cats? not me that is for sure it is brilliant. How clever of you to use your fabric scraps like this to make your journal page. XOXO
