Altered box and journal page

Hello Everyone and Happy Weekend. Nice to have you call in at Jumbled Crafts and thank you for your visit. No rugby this weekend so I guess it will walking and some crafting for me.

At Altered Eclectics it is their first challenge of the year and you have until February 25th to join in with anything altered.

I used one of the many boxes I save to alter and most of them have been there a very long time waiting their turn

I made this 'hold lots of things' box,

It started out as a very large Corn flake box and I cut it down to the height of a toilet roll middle. The rest of the  cardboard box has made lots of large tag shapes which will be very useful.

The outside of the box was covered with thick patterned card and it folded over part of the inside as well. Then I add a trim to the top edge to make it stronger.

Side View

The inside was fitted out with toilet roll middle and lots of small boxes so there were places to  put things in tidily and I can now find them easily

Art Journal Journey has Linda K hosting the theme '50 shades of red' and there are some amazing pages entered already.

Vic has been sorting out our garden pictures and I have chosen a photograph of our Mere Cat ornament that keeps guard at the bottom of the garden and also some of the beautiful red flowers that grow there every year.

Have a great day

Love Chrissie xx

Love your altered art Chrissie and your awesome page, always full of inspiration when I come here. I have added a prize to my post you just commented on as part of a DT so I know you have commented but maybe just read the 'rules' if you want to be part of it...xxx

Your up-cycled cereal box is fantastic and you've put it to good use straight away - it's very handy for storing all those bits and bobs :-). Your journal page made me smile, the Meerkat looks so happy sat amongst those beautiful red flowers waiting for the bees and butterflies to arrive:-). Happy Sunday Chrissie! J :-)

Love the splash of red on your collage. The altered box is fabulous. I'm forever saving boxes and then not doing anything with them. When I die they will be found and everyone will wonder why I was hoarding rubbish.

Your altered box is fabulous Chrissie - and obviously now so useful - such a great idea.
Love your AJJ piece - your meercat made me smile.
Thanks for telling me about 'Picture consequences' as I had no idea what it was called.
Hope you're having a lovely weekend... Gill xx

Perhaps I should copy you with a few boxes, great idea and it looks good, far better than throwing them out. Great "red" page too.

I never seem to buy boxes of food, but I certainly LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. You are SO good at recycling. This was really clever.

My friend Sally has a "thing" for Meerkats. She LOVES them, and saves them like I save rocking horses. I think this is a fantastic page, and Vic's saved photo was the star of the show.

A "hold lots of things box" is an excellent idea - and I love your brilliant recycling into something both beautiful and useful. And your gardening page is fabulous - a reminder that sooner or later summer will be back with all that glorious colour. Happy meerkat in the midst of it.

P.S. I don't think there's any such thing as a "mere cat" - all cats are magnificent!!
