Hi All. A bit cooler here today and that is fine by me as I burn so easily when it is sunny even though I cover myself in sun screen.
At Altered Book Lover, Elizabeth has a 2nd on the 2nd post each month and I haven't joined in before so thought it was about time I did.
Way back in 2013 I did a doodle and also Vic took a photograph of a foxglove in our garden with a bee on it. You can see the original post here if you like. The post was on June 13th 2013 and a foxglove still grows in the same place. The one this year is taller than I am and we still have a bees nest under the fence complete with bees.

2013 doodle
Today I was up very early and did a doodle for the circles challenge chosen by Rosie for Art Journal Journey Not sure my art has improved but my photographing of projects certainly has.
today's doodle
Hope you have a great day
Love Chrissie xx

What an AMAZING post today Chrissie - I love those photos - Vic's older one is a treasure and so beautiful that the foxclove blooms again now - your old doodle is made in a favourite colour combination of mine and the new doodle for Rosie's circle theme is just super. Thank you very much for supporting the new theme! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteAlways an extra bonus to take old bookpages for one's art. Gives an extra layer of interest to all we do in it!
I wish you a happy weekend !

How wonderful, Chrissie. Thanks for joining us this month. A great first time visit for Second on the 2nd, too. The photo of the bee and foxglove are wonderful. Not sure I would call that doodling, though. The flowers are incredible and I simply adore them. I'm also delighted to read that the foxglove is thriving and so are the bees.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful doodle for AJJ. It is beautiful and has such vivid colors.
I apologize for NOT mentioning that ICAD is an acronym for Index Card A Day.
Thanks for joining in with a second look on the 2nd. It was great to see you joining in this month.
You've been a good gardener, Chrissie as it's blooming still. Your doodlings are great, I love the last one most.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages. I love foxglove; we call them fairy thimbles. Great with the busy bee doing nature's work. Beautiful, colorful pages. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos Chrissie, it was good to see the foxglove looking as lovely now as a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteYour doodle page looks fantastic and I feel I can relate to that quote of going round in circles on a number of occasions.
We had rain today, so the the weather's back to normal.

Loving your art and wow I love your foxglove I don't have good luck growing those I know once established they come back-yours is just gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Vic was such an accomplished photographer. I guess I haven't been following you long enough, Chrissie. I love the depth of field and foxglove detail he captured in that shot.
ReplyDeleteYour circles pages - both of them - cheer and inspire me ;-) Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs, Eileen
Fantastic photography! I love your doodle pages - been doing a bit of doodling myself - can't seem to get into much - too excited about meeting up with my brother and SIL for a craft show in Doncaster tomorrow!! Hugs, Chrisx
