Thursday is Tags and photographs day

Hi All. Hope the sun is shining where you are and you will enjoy your day. Thank you for making me a part of your  day by calling in at Jumbled Crafts

At Go Tag Thursday the theme this week is In the Garden

This is a digital tag for the theme with digital painting, effects and brushes. Then-------

Is this a tag? Not sure really but I am hoping it is. I did some weaving with wooden lollipop sticks to make some garden trestle then added flowers and creatures. It does hang up like a tag.

Tag Tuesday has the theme The Beach chosen by one of the team, Joan.

I have gone back to my childhood here though it was all different when I was young. On Holiday men mostly wore a collar and tie and we had our best clothes on even to go on the beach. We went together as a large family and there was lots of fun and laughter for the whole week.

Doesn't look very much fun does it ?

If you make any tags or tag related projects during the next 11+ days I hope you will join us at Try it on Tuesday as our theme is Tags this time. We would love to see you there and you might be chosen as one of our TOP5

I have been knitting fluffy owls while I watch the sport and Vic added them to ones already on a shelf and said we had our very own owl centre. I am just using up bits of wool and the owls can be sold for the Cat Protection.

Have a great day

Love Chrissie xx

What a post - full to the brim with art and fun - love your garden tag at the top and the clever tag idea for the second one and I can imagine that one didn't feel very free on the beach at these times - wearing the best clothes... how can someone play in the sand then. ?
Your fluffy owls look amazing!
Happy THursday Chrissie!

Tags are your thing today. I love the cat in the garden, and laughed when I read the quote. It's really true, too.

Yes, that is a woven tag in my opinion. Art is in the eye of the beholder, and I say it's a fun tag.

I adored seeing photos of your family at the beach. I've got some photos of girls at the beach at the turn of the last century, and the swim suits cover them decently. What got me was they all wear SOCKS with their bathing suits. So I can understand why people dressed up to visit the beach. Truly the "good" old days!

Lots of fun to see in your post today, dear.

Those fluffy owls are just adorable Chrissie. Is it a pattern from online? And your tags are great, but it looks so different going to the beach in those dressy clothes. I would think it would be hard to get all of the sand out of them to wear them to someplace nice afterwards. Times have changed. Hugs-Erika

I have just had a trip down memory lane tonight Chrissie. Fabulous tags and a great idea with the lolly sticks. But I was drawn to your sea side holiday piece, great memories flew to my mind. Yes dad was wearing his best clothes, but he sported a knotted white handkerchief on his head, sitting in his deck chair. Much to my mothers disgust.

Love the tags! The owls are brilliant! ……..Oh! those seaside days back in the 50's! Skirts tucked into the elastic on knickers, rolled up trousers baring lily white legs on the menfolk, elasticated bobble bathing costumes - or even worse knitted ones!! Where those the days? Hugs, Chrisx

Sorry, that's 'Were those the days?' !!!!

I love the lollipop tag...so clever! Fancy beach attire, though maybe not the best for a swim. Super cute owls!

Great tags, and the trip down memory lane. Apart from visiting family in Wales, all our holidays were spent on the beach in Lincolnshire. Knitted bathing costumes when wet stretched down to your knees.
Love the owls, my grand-daughter is mad on owls.

I have fallen in love with your owls! I am learning to knit now.
Love the colors of the first tag and since I am a cat lover I really love that tag. I think the creation made with Popsicle sticks is really quite lovely! Loved your pictures from the 40's - can't imagine playing on the beach dressed like that!!

It is a King Cole pattern but my version of it. I never seem to be able to stick to any pattern without adding something a bit different

Love Chrissie xx

Well it doesn't look like anyone had to worry about having a 'beach-ready body' back then! I love all your varied and original tags - lots of bright colours and lovely garden things . The fluffy owls are gorgeous!

So many good things in this post! Love the knitted tag, as a matter of fact I have been meaning to do something with lollipop sticks for ages... Your old pics are lovely and the owls simply fabulous!

What a fun post Valerie, I have a photograph of 3 generations of us sat on Blackpool beach, me in a swimming costume, my mum with a beehive, and my grandad in shirt, tie, knitted waistcoat and rolled up trousers! Happy days xx
