Tag Tuesday and T Day

Hi All

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the week ahead

Our weather has decided it is winter already so it is thick jumpers and sturdy shoes time  for me. The heating seems to be on for most of the time even though we don't have it turned up very high. I guess this is the price we must pay for such a dry and sunny summer.

Tag Tuesday have he theme Edgar Allan Poe that was chosen by Michelle and it certainly brought up scary memories for me.

This is a digital tag and has the title of a short story, by Poe, that I had never read before.

You can read it here if are brave enough.

I used a digital mask on a dark background for the tag. I added the title of the book to the tag. Still a week to join in with your Poe Tag

It is a long time since I joined Bluebeard and Elizabeth for their T Day gathering at Altered Book Lover. It is always a pleasure to join in with the wonderful ladies who post each Tuesday, have a very Happy T Day of you.

Not a drink from anywhere exciting or even an exciting drink. A cup of decaffinated tea in my craftroom yesterday that's all. I am using up bits of felt that were leftovers from beautiful Christmas Stockings that my daughter made. I am making the bits into ornaments for our christmas tree that is very modern but lack lustre. I have always saved beads since I was a child and still seem to have lots of them so I hope to reduce the number by making things for the tree. I have to use very strong glasses to be able to see the little beads.

Two of the things things that Linda made for, us all the kits are from the US

Have a great day

Edgar Allan Poe and Autumn

Hi All

Hope your week is going well and that the weather is nice where you are. We have a lovely blue sky and sun but with an autumn nip in the air.

At Tag Tuesday this time the them was chosen by Michelle and it Edgar Allan Poe

I think this is one of Poe's scariest stories and mainly because my sister-in-law and me decided to read it together one paragraph each and she was so frightened it scared me as well. That was about 40 years ago and I have never read it again so maybe now is the time. The tag is mixed media with a picture of the man himself found on Google and with cats added by me in Paint Shop Pro. This part was printed out and the rest of the tag was crafted.

Still almost 2 weeks to join the challenge so hope to see your tags there.

Moo Mania has Autumn as their theme this time

I was looking through old folders and found an autumn project from 2013 so I have reworked it and made something new for this challenge. The nature pieces were all real ones I found in the hedgerows and stuck onto a stamped background. I am going to print it out and make a card for a friend who has his birthday next week.

Have a great day

Bunting and Halloween

Hello Everyone

Hope you week has gone well and that you are looking forward to the weekend

At Tag Tuesday the theme this time is Flags or Bunting chosen by Sandie

This is my second tag for the challenge and I made an all digital one. Bunting and flags always make me think of sailing ships so I went with that theme for this tag. Still time for everyone to join in with their ideas.

Try it on Tuesday have Trick or Treat, Halloween for their theme for the new challenge.

A bit unsual as a challenge entry I know but I have just made a new header for my blog so thought I would enter that in the challenge.

Our Northern Rail and Johnston newpapers have an offer of £10 train travel for a few weeks if you collect tokens. We are always given lots of tokens by people who don't use the trains so yesterday we went to Sheffield for a day out. We visited two art galleries and the Cathedral as well as enjoying the delights of an Oktoberfest with lots of wonderful different stalls selling food from all over the world.
I was born in Sheffield and went to a lot of concerts in the Cathedral in my teens. How the place has changed! All new modern pews and everywhere sparkling and bright. Not sure how I felt about it but I guess after 60 years we have both moved on. The food was good in the Bistro -all part of the modern cathedrals of today.

 Inside the Cathedral

Looking up at a very modern part of the roof

Have a great weekend

Put up your bunting at TT

Hi All and thank you for calling in at Jumbled Crafts

Hope your weekend is going well. It is awful weather here today but we did stay Monday to Thursday last week in, a very sunny, St Annes on the west coast of the UK. Lots of walking and sight seeing and even a ride along the Blackpool Illuminations on one of the Heritage trams. The new trams are fantastic but to see the lights from a vintage tram can't be beaten. It took me right back to my childhood.

At Tag Tuesday this time Sandie has chosen the theme Bunting or Flags. Her tags are really inspiring so do pop over to Tag Tuesday to see them and then make one of your own for the challenge.

I made a large tag so that I can pin it on my notice board and have a smile when I see it.

I found the saying and the, free to use, 'jumping for joy' children then made a digital piece with them and some brushes in Paint Shop Pro. The letters for the bunting were also printed out. The tag is covered with a black and white paper and the bunting is made from a pink border paper that was in my bits and bobs box.

Have a great day

Card and Journal Page

Hello All from a very wet NE UK Coast. We have wanted some 'real' rain for a long time and it seems like today we are going to get it. Fortunately we scarified and cut our lawns this last week so we chose the right time to do that job.

Try it on Tuesday have the theme Black,White and One other colour, for their challenge this time

The digital stamp is from here where there are lots of free to use vintage images. The whole picture was made in Paint Shop Pro with various layers and the Happy Birthday sentiment. The finished image was printed straight onto a card blank.

Art Journal Journey have the theme Creature Comforts chosen by Linda.

I have made a page for my Friends and Family Journal and it has my daughter's three cats on it. When we go to visit I am always amazed at how they can be racing around one minute and the next minute they are instantly asleep or comfortable anywhere they feel they would like to be. If ever there was a Creature of Comforts, cats would be top of my list. The purr they make is such a beautiful sound as well--except when they sneak onto your bed in the middle of the night. Then it isn't so beautiful.

Hope you have a great weekend

Autumn/Halloween and recycled

Hi All

Cold and windy here today so a trip along the seafront to see my MIL will be quite tricky with a large bunch of flowers I guess.

The theme at Tag Tuesday was chosen by dear Valerie and has another week for you to join in. They want to see your Autumn/ Halloween tags and there are some great one so far.

Apolgies to Finnabair and her wonderful work that has inspired so many of us. This is a my second tag for the theme at TT and this time I made a digital one using a pic of me surrounded by the beauty of nature.

I thought you might like to try this. A few weeks ago I was cleaning out the veg tray in the fridge and found a piece of wrinkled old ginger with the skin still on it. It was in the recycling box and Vic took it out and planted it in a large pot. Then it joined lots of other things that are growing from cuttings and stray seeds we found. Yesterday he brought it inside to show me what had happened. It is up to my chin and looks like it may be a 'Jack and the Bean Stalk' before too long. There are three more shoots coming from the bottom as well. It needs heat now the weather has turned cooler so it has a place at the side of the fire. You can grow plants from many of the peelings, seeds and old veg that you throw away.

Have a great day
