Hearts, Time and Roses

Hi All

A very cold and frosty morning here but nice and warm in the craft room so I will be making the most of that today.

At Tag Tuesday this time the theme was chosen by Michele and she would like to see Hearts, Hearts, Hearts on your tag entries. Two weeks to join in as the theme only started yesterday

I started out with just a piece of plain card and added a black border with a Crayola pen and lots of other things that just happened to be not far from my work top. I wrote the words digitally and printed them out and realised they would also fit in at Try it on Tuesday where the theme for another week is Time Flies.

Take a Word this week has Roses as their subject. Always amazing work from the people who join in the challenges there. So much inspiration.

I would like to start the day with a beautiful teapot and cup with a bunch of roses to smell and gaze at but today I have my stripey mug and hot lemon juice instead.

Hope your day goes well

Happy T Day

Hello Everyone

As today is Tuesday I will be joining the wonderful T Day gang with a drinks related post. Anyone can join in with a post that has something to do with a drink of any kind. Bluebeard and Elizabeth are the hosts and invite us to be their guests every Tuesday. Happy T Day Everyone

This week has been hectic for us as MIL was in hospital then we kept getting phone calls telling us she was coming home and she didn't. She did arrive home on Friday evening so we have been backwards and forwards ever since to make sure she is settling back into her home again.

This is the place to go for coffee and toasted tea cake when you need cheering up on a damp, dark day. The cafe is in a very large amusement arcade and the walls are covered in blown up versions of cheeky old postcards. Not many in at this time of year but it is always full of young families in summer as the food is cheap and the sort of things that children love to eat. It is great to here all the slot machines and the music as well as read the postcards. Some not for the fainthearted .

Have a great day.

Squares at MMM

Hello Everyone and a Happy Weekend to all of you

The weather is a little warmer today and we are off for a walk along the seafront to see MIL as she came out of hospital last night. The ward still had the Norovirus but it had been isolated so it was time to send some of the patients home at last.

At Moo Mania and More the theme this time is Squares.

I have seen photographs of the young royals in blue suits recently and I also watch the series Suits where all the main men seem to wear blue suits. It made me wonder why this had become almost the norm instead of the greys, blacks and browns of the past. It was interesting to look up the meanings of various colours so I made a page for the MMM challenge with some cutout squares. The background is painted.  The images I found on Google and added to the page digitally. I may use the background another time for something else.

This would also fit in at Art Journal Journey where the theme Geometric Shapes was chosen by Alison and has until the last day of January for you to join in.

Have a great weekend

Mail at Tag Tuesday

Hello Everyone and welcome to Jumbled Crafts.

Today it is very icy outside so I will be staying in as I am scared of falling on the ice. Gone are the days when the council made everywhere safe with rock salt to melt the ice. Even the roads on our little estate seem to be forgotten. Never mind it will mean more crafting time so always something to be happy about.

At Tag Tuesday the theme this time is mail-postmarks-or-postage-stamps and was chosen by Sandie. Lots of great ideas already and still until next Monday evening to join in the challenge.

I was sorting out the stamps from this year's Christmas Cards as I take them to our doctor's surgery where they pass them on to some charity to raise funds. I realised that there were a lot of different stamps so I have made a big tag with some of them. The picture in the middle is what our postmen wear and they usually ride a bike. Ours walks everywhere and most of the time he wears shorts.

Have a great day

Happy T Day and a Journal Page

Hi All

Tuesday has come around once more and we can join Elizabeth and Bluebeard with a drinks related post. Such an interesting and friendly place for anyone to join in.
Have a very Happy T Day and thank you to the hosts.

It was a very cold day and we decided to walk back home along the sea front when we had been to do shopping in town. We were passing the Spa complex and Vic said he was feeling hungry so we went in. Vic had a beef sandwich, nachos and salad. I had a couple of things from the snack buffet. There are lots to choose from and they always look very interesting. I had eaten mine before I took the pics-will try to remember next time. They were only nibbles. We both had tea and mine was decaffe.

This is the view from the Spa and it is at our end of town

The food bar.
The whole building is quite amazing since it was refurbished about 10 years ago. A huge ballroom, theatre and many other rooms as well as the cafe.

At Art Journal Journey this time the theme is Geometric shapes and is hosted by Alison You have the whole of January to join in this great theme.

The images  on this page were from Dezinaworld but it seems to be closed down now. Maybe June is on Facebook or somewhere else. I have lots of the images from there in a folder.

Have a great day

Fun with Butterflies

Hi All

Monday has come around very quickly after a hectic week for us. MIL is still safely in hospital and ok so far. We are going to stock up her food supplies today just in case they bring her home soon.

At Take a Word this week the theme is Butterflies in Interesting places.

Such a fun theme I made two. The cat one is one of my daughter's cats asleep with the channel changer

Have a great day

Green and Blue

Hi All

Hope your weekend is going well so far

Thank you for your kind words about my MIL. She is still in hospital but should have been home by now except for the fact that the ward she is on had Norovirus and no one is allowed to go in or come out until it is cleared up.

I am just in time to enter the Take a Word challenge with their theme this time Green and Blue.

Very relaxing colours I find and enjoyable to just do some PSP doodling

Tags and Journal Page

Hi All

Very cold here today with black ice on the paths and a forecast for snow as well so a day to stay in I think.
This week has been very hectic as MIL is in hospital again and the diagnosis is mixed as always. She looked and sounded ok to us but the list of tests to be done by the hospital was extensive so not sure how long she will be there.( She pays to have a device she wears around her neck and when she presses it someone comes and sends for emergency services a lot of the times so nothing to do with us at all) This has happened many times.

At Tag Tuesday this time the theme is mail-postmarks-or-postage-stamps. This was chosen by Sandie and will be another popular theme I think. I have made 2 tags today

This tag has stamps on it that were on a Christmas package from Valerie a few years ago. The words were cut from one of my birthday cards and other bits were in my odds and ends box. Amazing what you can find on almost any theme if you look through your 'savings'

My second tag is digital with a background I found on Google and changed quite a bit. The digital stamp was one I won a long time ago in a challenge and the bow is a custom brush made by me

Art Journal Journey also have a great theme for this month. Geometric shapes was chosen by Alison and is proving to be popular.

I based this digital page on the beautiful, collaged picture that Vic bought for my birthday last year. The picture hangs in our sitting room and I get pleasure from it every day. I think my take on may be good to put on a card

Have a great day

Cold and Frosty Colours

Hi All

I hope you are having a nice weekend.

So many great themes around at the moment it has made me want to start joining in challenges again. At Moo Mania and More the theme this time is Cold and Frosty Colours. You can make anything you like, using any medium, just as long as it follows the theme.

Definitely a cold and icy creation and I recall the day Vic took the photograph way back in 2009. I have used effects to create something a bit different with it.

Here is the original photograph showing icicles on our conservatory guttering

Have a beautiful Sunday

Take a Word

Hello Everyone

I hope your day is going well. We have wonderful sunshine today so far.

It is a long time since I joined in at Take a Word but I do love to see the things that people make for the challenges there. Such clever ideas by the artists. As the theme this time is Botanical I couldn't resist having a go. The challenges last ofr a week each time and this one started last Sunday.

I started out with one of my own photographs and used various effects and additions to make this digital piece.

This is photographs taken way back in 2005.

Have a great day

Something old and geometric shapes journal page

Hello Everyone

Rainy and dull again today but a promise of some sunshine later. Today I am off for a check-up at the dentist and I hope it is more successful than the visit to the opticians as he didn't turn up due to illness. His receptionist sounded full of cold so maybe as well he stayed at home if she had caught it off him. I don't want it thank you.

I made another journal page for the Geometric Shapes theme at Art Journal Journal. This is hosted  by Alison and lasts for the whole of January.

I had the die cut squares in a bag and the other squares are made by dabbing on some Distress Inks. The circular background is also distressed ink added with a round dabber.

I am also entering this at Try it on Tuesday where the theme is Something Old-Something New and will last for two weeks.

The journal page paper is the back of last year's birthday calendar. I intend to use all the pages to make them into a journal as the paper is such good quality

One of the old pages

Also I used stamps I had forgotten I had. They were in a plastic bag with lots of others and at the back of a drawer.

The leaves are Joanne Sheene

The poppies from Hobby Art

I had to search online to find out who the stamps were made by and was amazed to find that the quote was one from the same set as all the stamps in the bag are just loose.

Should I make a resolution to sort them out and use them more often?

Have a great day

Happy T Day and a Tag

Hello Fellow Blog Friends

Hope your week has started well and that it is better weather where you are than it is here. Today has been, dull, cold and windy with a touch of rain thrown in for good measures. We went along the seafront to the other of town to visit my MIL and it was good to arrive there and be in the warmth of her apartment.

Along the way we stopped for coffee at our Leisure Centre that is now almost empty because the children have gone back to school today. During the holidays it was difficult to find a seat anywhere but plenty of spaces today to sit and look out to sea and enjoy this wonderful space. It has 3 pools and many different types of activities from sport to gym equipment. We used to be members of everything there but now the cafe is the only part we visit regularly.

Two coffees please, one decaffe.

Happy T Day to all the ladies who join in with Bluebeard and Elizabeth on her drinks related post every Tuesday. Thank you Elizabeth for letting us all meet there with you. Anyone can join in so why not join us

At Tag Tuesday this time, Valerie has chosen the theme New Beginnings

This tag shows a 'very old' New Beginning for me. I can't count the number of diet books I have bought over the years with the intention of changing my body into something it will never be. New 'Me to Be' always starts off with enthusiam and good intentions then after a while I realise I will always have wide legs and rear because my mother and grandmother had the same shape.
No one has written a diet book that will make be 5 feet 9 with shapely everything all the way up. I will always be 5 feet 2 with the family shape whatever I weigh.
Oh Dear I just bought the Daily Mail with the new Michael Mosely Diet????

Have a great day

Digi Donna

Hi All

I hope 2019 has set off to a good start for you. We seem to have hit the new year running and started on some home improvements that we have put off for many years. It will be nice to get things done though as DIY seems much harder the older you get.

At Art Journal Journey this month Alison is hosting the theme Geometric Shapes. What a great subject to choose and I had lots of ideas in my head when I saw it

This is Digi Donna and she is head of a  design company. Always ahead of the game where fashion is concerned and a force to be reckoned with, in the office.

Have a great weekend

New Beginnings at Tag Tuesday

Hi All

I hope the new year has started off well for you and will be a good one.

At Tag Tuesday, Valerie has chosen the theme New Beginnings so lots of scope to think of what this might mean to you.

For my tag I used one of Valerie's very beautiful sunrise photographs. She always posts such amazing photographs on her blog and her sky pictures are the best I think. I know she won't mind that I changed it a bit by adding a rook and some words. Thank you Valerie for letting me use your photographs and for the pleasure they bring to so many of us.

Every morning we sit up in bed and watch for the 'scout' rook at sunsrise. Just one sets out from the many nests in the trees near to where live.
It flies around a few times then reports back and wakes up all the other rooks to fly off to their feeding ground. Many others join them from other places and the sky gets really busy in no time at all

2nd on the 2nd

Hello Everyone

Once again I am linking at Elizabeth and Bluebeard's blog where she is asking for a post from the past to have a second showing. This is something they host every month on the 2nd.

I was looking through all of the things I used to like doing as challenges in the past and came across Twinchies. I used to love joining in the Twinchie Challenges but can't find any now.

These are two I made for a challenge in 2013 and you can read the post here if you like. Fashions change even in  crafting and now digital and journaling seem to be very popular.

Can't wait to see what other are reposting

Have a great day
